My mother wrote about the boys going to the zoo the other day, "you" being me, the father of William and Andrew:

Thanks for the newsy report on the children. The chidren sound absolutely adorable. I hope they had fun at the zoo. As you know, you disliked zoos as a child. You seemed to be upset about the animals in cages. You cried. We went to the zoo once when you were a child and you refused to go after that. You love going to the Carnegie Institute to see the dinosaur bones and other natural historical displays. We went to the museum almost every week, in part because was free. I was very poor so I had to find low-cost but educational ways to entertain you.
