Bromberg parenting quote
Bromberg writes in p6 of Awakening The Dreamer, "The main source of power that parents have over children comes not so much out of what they tell the child to do as from "showing" him who he is." He goes on to talk about how parents disconfirm aspects that they don't like, which creates a kind of trauma that leads to the defense of dissociation.
